Abstract
weightless clock and lamb, or Light-on-Time, is a unique display designed based on the concepts feedback stabilization of unstable systems and wireless energy transfer. The base comprises of two sources of magnetic fields: permanent magnetic field and time-varying magnetic field. The equilibrium along Z axis is stabilized by means of the Neodymium magnets, and along the two others by means of electromagnets. The feedback stabilizers along axes X and Y are based on the PID with anti-windup scheme to reduce large overshoots which usually occurs from Integral action. While the top is floating in mid-air, the LEDs inside the top are also wirelessly powered and lit. The wireless energy function is built by means of LC circuits tuned at resonance frequency 1 MHz.
