Temperature Control System for Tissue Culture

Abstract:

This project alms to design the Temperature Control System for Tissue Culture application and able to used with Inverted microscope to study behavior of cell for medical profession. Thermoelectric Module (TE) was selected to manipulate temperature and operated by microcontroller with PI algorithm. The tuning parameters was designed based on system transfer function. The control system uses microcontroller with PI controller. The analysis based on First Order Plus Dead Time (FOPDT) is used to obtain the system’s transfer function.

Drive circuit consists of the voltage and current drives which obtains the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) from the microcontroller to control the supply current to a thermoelectric. From the experiment results, Temperature can be controlled with 5 different levels by specific time to set point with average use by switch. The proposal design can able to work good system to assemble properly with microscope.
