Fixed Structure H∞ Controller Design for Industrial Used

Abstract:

This project is to design fixed structure H∞controllers to have low order and have efficiency closely or equal to the full order H∞controller. The high order H∞controller’s structure is complex, high memory usage and requires high computation time. Then this controller is not suitable for using in any control equipment used in industrial. The fixed structure H∞controller aims to solve above problems. The designing of the fixed structure H∞controllers is started with: design full order H∞controller to get the weighting function, use the same weighting functions to design the fixed structure controller by using the genetic Algorithm to search the controller parameter.

To see the efficiency of the proposed controller, we test the controller by controlling a magnetic Levitation plant. The experiment results show that both H∞controllers are out perform a PID controller.
